NIMS

Product Overview

It monitors the soundness of the reactor coolant system, detects premature signs, and enables preventive measures to prevent accidents in advance.

The reactor coolant system serves as a pressure boundary to prevent leakage of radioactive materials and therefore, it is directly connected to the safety of nuclear power plants.

Configuration
The NIMS facility consists of four main lines
  • LPMS metal particle monitoring equipment

    Monitoring the authenticity, location and impact of foreign matter by detecting shock waves caused by foreign substances in the system using vibration acceleration sensor installed on the outer surface of the reactor system.

  • ALMS sound leakage monitoring system

    Detection of cracks or coolant leaks at the pressure interface of the reactor system using Acoustic Emission sensors.

  • IVMS reactor internal structure
    vibration monitoring system

    By detecting the noise signal of the extraneous neutron detector installed in the reactor, the change of the vibration characteristics of the internal structure of the reactor is monitored, so that the deterioration of the fastening force of the internal structure of the reactor or the weakening of the support state is detected early.

  • RCPVMS reactor coolant pump
    vibration monitoring system

    Detect abnormal condition of the reactor coolant pump shaft and defective support bearing by using vibration acceleration sensor and non-contact displacement sensor.
